The thousand-year-old Kang Stepping Village is located on the slopes of the Binalood Mountains, 29 kilometers from Mashhad.

Kang Village is located 19 kilometers west of Torqaba, which is considered a summer area of Mashhad.
This village, which dates back to the pre-Islamic era, is known for its stepped houses.
In addition to the stepped houses, the tomb of Sheikh Abdullah, a religious mystic, is also located in this village.
The word Kang is interpreted in two meanings: a strong-clawed bird and a strong fortress.
According to the 1390 census, this village has a population of about 800 people.
The people of the village are engaged in activities such as gardening, carpet weaving, labor, carpentry, woodturning, and animal husbandry.
Also, due to the lack of flat land for agriculture, the people of the village are mostly engaged in gardening.
This village, with an area of 184 hectares, is about 1700 meters above sea level, which always has a cool climate.

Hisar Castle, which was built of stone during the reign of Shapur Zul-Kataf (the tenth Sassanid king) and was a hiding place for valuables, gold, and jewelry. Of course, in recent years these treasures have been stolen and looted. This castle is located between the Kang River and the village of Zeshk.
