Introduction:
One of the most spectacular historical attractions in Yazd is the Khan of Yazd.
The Khan of Yazd complex, which consists of a bazaar, a bath, a square, and a school, is a building from the Qajar period.
The grandeur of Iran and the taste and artistry of Iranian architects can be clearly seen in this unique complex.
When visiting this complex, after visiting the spectacular Khan Bazaar, you can relax and drink tea in the Khan Bath, which has now been converted into a traditional restaurant and teahouse, and enjoy the beauty of this place.
The Khan of Yazd complex was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 1365.
History:
Now we will examine the historical background of the square, bazaar, and Khan Bath.

Khan Square:
This vast and beautiful square is located on the southern side of Qiyam Street.
During the Zand dynasty, this square was used as a place of judgment and a place to resolve disputes and problems of the marketers.
On all four sides of the square, there are shops with crescent-shaped entrances and old awnings.
Khan Bazaar:
One of the oldest markets in Yazd is Khan Bazaar.
Parts of the market were built during the Afshari era, but other parts were formed by Mohammad Taghi Khan Bafqi and his descendants.
Khan Bazaar consists of Timcheh and various markets, each of which was specialized in selling a specific product.
The most important of these markets include Panjeh Ali Bazaar, Zargari Bazaar, Qeysarieh Bazaar, Alaqbandi Bazaar, Chit Sazha Bazaar, Kashigari Bazaar, Afshar Bazaar, Mulla Ismail Bazaar, Sadri Bazaar (Prince Fazel), Darvazeh Mehriz Bazaar, Nakhod Berizi Bazaar, and Mesgari Bazaar.
Among these markets, the Qaysari Bazaar, which sells Yazdi fabrics, is more elegant in terms of architecture and is closed with two valuable wooden doors.
Khan Bazaar was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 1382.

Khan Bath:
Khan Bath or Noor Bath was built during the reign of Naser al-Din Shah by Mirza Mohammad Taghi Khan Bafiqi in 1170 AH.
Because most of the nobles and nobles used this bath, it was named Khan Bath.
But this did not mean that low-income people were not allowed to use this bath.
Thirty years after its construction, in 1200 AH, this building was rebuilt and beautiful royal decorations and stucco were added to the building at this time.
This bathhouse is connected to Khan Square, the Tile Bazaar, and the residential area through three entrances. The Khan Bathhouse has been used as a traditional restaurant and teahouse since 1994.

Architecture:
Khan Bazaar of Yazd, with a length of 274 meters, bears the title of the longest bazaar in Yazd.
The height of the ceiling of the bazaar varies between 4 and 6 meters.
The north-south part of the bazaar is 78 meters long and has 53 rooms. The east-west part is 180 meters long and has 100 rooms.
The Khan Bathhouse of Yazd consists of the Sarbineh, Mian Dar, Garmkhaneh, Tavileh, Gavro, Tun, Shah Neshin, Qarineh, and the entrance.
The Sarbineh is a large space with unique decorations.
The roof of this part is made in the shape of a dome with a beautiful skylight.
In the past, the interior of this section was decorated with beautiful paintings and designs, but unfortunately, many of them have been lost due to the passage of time.
In the Sarbineh space, there are seating platforms and a dressing room.
Under the platforms, there are holes for placing shoes.
The Sarbineh and the hot spring are connected to each other through a doorway.
The washing area, hot water tank, and cold water tank are located in the hot spring.
The hot spring also has a dome-shaped roof and columns can be seen in the middle and around it.
Next to the hot spring, there is a pool measuring 6 x 12 meters.
In the Shahneshin section, which connected the hot spring and the pool, there are colorful and glazed walls with paintings of events and characters from the Shahnameh, which were added to the building during the reconstruction and the Qajar era.
The bathhouse is built in such a way that it is located below ground level, which is why the space is cool and water access is easy.
The architectural style, light-filled design, beautiful paintings, tiling, stucco work, and the use of colored windows in this building have made this place one of the most beautiful historical attractions in Yazd.
