The Gole Dari Bath was registered as one of the most valuable historical monuments of Bandar Abbas in 1374 AH and with the registration number 2003 in the list of national monuments of Iran. Today, this bath has become a luxurious museum and is known as the Anthropology Museum of Hormozgan Province.
Gole Dari Bath:
This bath dates back to the Qajar period and dates back to the late 13th century AH.
The water used by the Bandar Abbas Gole Dari Bath was supplied from a well with a depth of ten meters, which still exists.
The heating system of the Gole Dari Bath included a fuel store, a fire pit, a boiler, chimneys and an ash collection pit.
To provide lighting for the bath, you can see the openings in the ceiling of the bath.
The administration of the Gole Dari Bath is two-fold:
The main aspect is that it is managed by the guardianship of the endowments and has an endowment certificate.
Historically and heritage-wise, it is managed by the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization.
Herd Bath
History:
The late Sheikh Ahmad Herd Bath, a wealthy and benevolent merchant of that time, established this place with the intention of providing social services to the people and dedicated it to the local mosque, known as the Herd Bath Mosque.
Herd Bath was active in two shifts, for women and men. During the women’s shift, it was completely fenced off, and women spent their time in the bath with special rituals from morning to afternoon.
The Herd Bath of Bandar Abbas was renovated between 1333 and 1338 AH.
After the 1340s, with the arrival of urban plumbing, this bath gradually became an abandoned place.
In the early 1370s, the Cultural Heritage Organization intervened and restored this bath, which was opened to the public on specific days and hours.
Herd Bath
Architecture:
Since this area has high humidity, materials such as sea and sponge stones, local mortar, and gypsum were used in the construction of the building.
The architectural space of the Herd Bath, like other baths in the central desert, has the spaces of Bineh, Sar Bineh, Garmkhaneh, and Khazineh.
The building has five large and small domes.
At the entrance to the Herd Bath, there is a small vestibule corridor to regulate the temperature and humidity of the interior space.
The Bineh space is built in the shape of an octagon and around it are four seats or platforms for seating and a dressing room.
In the middle of the Bineh hall is a small octagonal pond.
The space in this part must have been cold and dry because the entrance space was in direct contact with the outside space.
