Tomb of Baba Qasim, Isfahan

The tomb of Baba Qasim is located in Isfahan, and is considered one of the mystics of the 8th century.

This work was registered in 1310 with registration number 100 as one of the national works of Iran.
Architecture:
The building of the tomb is located on a quadrangle and the inner covering is a hemispherical dome.
The dome of the tomb is pyramidal and has 8 slots.
On both of its opposite slots, one of the names is engraved in azure mosaic tile script and on a brick background.
The muqarnas inside the dome are on a checkered brick background on which the phrase “Allahu Akbar” is written in turquoise tile script 8 times.
There is a nave inside the building, and the brickwork and moqran work on its ceiling are very admirable.
Two inscriptions in this nave have mosaic tiles.
One of them is located under the neck of the dome and its content is Surah 17 of the Holy Quran.
The second inscription, which is located below the first inscription, is engraved on the southern arch of the nave.
The entrance of this building has a historical inscription that is engraved in Thuluth script and with mosaic tiles on a blue background and is dated 471 AH.
The entrance has 4 moqran panels with a constructional line on it.
This entrance is written with a blue mosaic tile on a brick background, one word in each panel, and in the middle of the entrance and under its moqrans, one word is written in constructional line with turquoise tiles on a brick background.
Two stone tablets are installed on the eastern wall of the entrance.
One of these two tablets is installed in the upper part of a stone lattice window.
This tablet consists of two margins and a text, the phrase engraved on this margin containing prayers for the fourteen infallibles.
Inside and around the tomb, brick and tile decorations have given the area a special beauty.
The tomb of Baba Qasim of Isfahan has all the architectural features of the eighth century AH, that is, the era of the Ilkhanid rule in Iran, and is one of the exquisite examples and architectural characteristics of that time.
