Khorramabad Stone Whirlpool

The stone whirlpool is one of the historical attractions of Khorramabad, dating back to the Sassanid era, about 1600 years ago.
Introduction:
The stone whirlpool of Khorramabad is located in the northwest and among the old fabric of this city.
This circular building is located around a spring to organize the spring water.
This spring has water from mid-winter to mid-summer and is dry at other times.
The spring’s water flow rate is about 170 liters per second, which increases in the spring.
It was used to distribute water through a canal to different parts of the ancient city of Shapurkhast.
It also turned a mill called “Baba Abbas”, which was located 12 kilometers away.
Some believe that about 4,000 years ago, this spring led to caves that were the dwelling places of early humans.
This historical monument was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 1355.
