Delgosha Garden of Shiraz is considered one of the historical gardens of the city with its unique beauty, which is surrounded by high walls.
Introduction:
Delgosha Garden of Shiraz is located in the northeast of the city and near the tomb of Saadi.
This garden is also located near the mountainside and in the southern part of Tang-e-Ab Khan.
The history of this historical garden dates back to the Sassanid, Safavid and Qajar periods.
The presence of features such as being on the path of a water stream, high walls around the garden, and a summer mansion with a water pool have distinguished Iranian gardens, including Delgosha Garden.
European tourists call gardens with such components “Persian Gardens”.
Delgosha Garden was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 2002.
Unfortunately, in the last few years, this garden has suffered a fire and suffered serious damage.

History:
The history of Delgosha Garden dates back to the pre-Islamic and Sassanid periods.
During the time of Timur Gorkani, this garden was at its peak of development, which is why a garden of the same name was built in Samarkand on his orders.
During the Safavid period, the garden became more famous, as this garden is also mentioned in the writings of European tourists at that time.
This development continued until the Afshar period, but the period between the Afshar and Zand governments saw a lot of damage.
During the time of Karim Khan Zand, Delgosha Garden was restored again.
Some of the buildings in this garden belong to the Qajar period.

Architecture:
Delgosha Garden, with an area of 5.7 hectares, is covered with orange trees and a few orange trees.
From mid-April to May, these trees are covered in white blossoms that double the beauty of the garden and spread a pleasant fragrance in the garden.
A mansion located in the middle of the garden, which dates back to the Zand dynasty.
This mansion was built in the style of the Sassanid palaces of Bishapur, with a large hall with four royal residences.
The building of this mansion has three floors, two entrance doors, a large porch and two columns on the middle floor.
The magnificent porch of the mansion faces the pool and poems by Shorideh are written on it in Nastaliq script.
Among the beauties of this mansion are mirror works, oil paintings and ceilings with wood and stucco decorations in the form of flowers and leaves.
The water of the garden is supplied from a qanat spring that flows from Saadi’s tomb.
The first pergola in Iran was recorded in the Delgosha Garden.
