Shiraz Coppersmiths’ Market

Shiraz Coppersmiths’ Market is one of the traditional markets of the city, which is now dedicated to selling household appliances.
Introduction:
Shiraz Coppersmiths’ Market is one of the remains of the Qaysarieh Market, which was destroyed in an earthquake during the Qajar era but was restored in 1299.
This market was built using bricks and plaster and connects the two markets of Morgh and Ordu in the Darb Shazdeh neighborhood.
The design of this market is very similar to Vakil’s market.
However, unlike it, the shops are generally located at or below ground level.
The height of the shops from the ground level depended on the type of goods sold there.
For example, bakeries were located below ground level and apothecaries were located at or above ground level.
At that time, the sale of copper handicrafts was very prosperous, and Shiraz even had a copper factory.
Currently, the number of these chambers has decreased and the sound of hammers is not heard much.
Alongside the old coppersmiths, there are also shops selling clothes and cosmetics.
