The historical house of Akhund Abu Khorramabad

The historical house of Akhund Abu is one of the relics left from the Qajar era in the city of Khorramabad, located opposite the Falak-ol-Aflak Castle.

Introduction:
The historical house of Akhund Abu Khorramabad is located on the western side of the Falak-ol-Aflak Castle and the Darb Baba Taher neighborhood.
This house dates back to the mid-Qajar era and belonged to the local judge, Mirza Mohsen Ghazi.
He was originally from Khuzestan and was known as Ghazi al-Qudzat, and this house was considered a place for his work and life.
After the building was acquired by the Lorestan Cultural Heritage Department, its use was changed to the Khorramabad Handicrafts Museum.
This work was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 1378.
Annually, on various occasions, especially Nowruz, traditional ceremonies, conferences, photo exhibitions, etc. are held in this historical building.

Architecture:
This building has an area of ​​730 square meters.
The house is divided into two parts, the northern and southern, which are known as the winter and summer parts.
The northern or winter part has two floors with lattice windows and two entrances to the guest houses.
The summer part is decorated with plastered walls, which is very eye-catching.
The architecture of the house includes the Panj Dari room, the Se Dari room, and the hall.
The Panj Dari room was used as a guest room and was a place for the members of the house to rest in the summer.
The entrance to the house is decorated with an arch and opens into a narrow alley.
In the middle of the courtyard is a small pond with a beautiful fountain and green trees.
The materials used in the construction of this building include stone, brick, wood, and mortar.
The main decorations used in the building are also of the type of qatarbandi, gol-andaz, and khofta-raste.
One of the most important features of the house is its unique view of Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, which can also be seen from inside the courtyard.
This historical monument with its beautiful design now operates as a handicraft museum.
