Ganjali Khan Square

The Ganjali Khan complex of Kerman includes a square, a mosque, a bathhouse, a bazaar, a palace, and other buildings located in the city center and on the outskirts of the bazaar, and has been influential in the construction, formation, and development of the Kerman bazaar.

About Ganjali Khan:
Ganjali Khan was one of the generals of the Safavid court who became the ruler of Kerman in 1005 AH by order of Shah Abbas Safavi.

According to documents left by foreign travelogues, this person was one of the rulers who attached great importance to Iranian culture.
One of his important actions was the construction of public utilities in Kerman and the establishment of security on all sea routes, which is why trade flourished.
Among the beautiful buildings left by this great ruler are the Ganjali Khan complex of Kerman, the Rabat of Zein al-Din (Ganjali Khan Caravanserai) on the Yazd-Kerman road, the Hoz Khan on the Kerman-Mashhad road, and a number of aqueducts in Kerman city.
The birthplace of Ganj Ali Khan is not known, but his place of death is in Kandahar, and his tomb is currently in Mashhad.

The area of ​​the complex is approximately 11,000 square meters and has a square, and other monuments and buildings are formed on its east-west and north-south axes.
The construction of the Ganj Ali Khan complex in Kerman with the Isfahan architectural structure began in 1005 AH.
The architect is part of the Ostad Sultan Mohammad complex.
This square, like Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan and Amir Chakhmaq Square in Yazd, has many valuable and historical monuments around it.
This building was nationally registered on May 16, 1968, under number 829.
