Introduction:
One of the buildings left over from the Qajar era is the Malek al-Tojar House, which is 120 years old.
This beautiful house is located in the Fahadan neighborhood and in the Panjeh Ali Bazaar.
Like the Lari House, this house is also an example of one of the exquisite and noble houses in the city of Yazd.
Currently, this historical building is used as a traditional hotel.
But it is still open to visitors and you can also use the hotel restaurants when visiting.
This building, the first brick hotel in the world, began its activities in 2008 after restoration and preserving the traditional architecture.
History:
The founder of the Malek al-Tojar building is a person named Haj Ali Asgar Shirazi, a carpet merchant with a history.
He received the title of Malek al-Tojar from Naser al-Din Shah Qajar for his positive performance in trade.
His family lived in this place for four generations after him.

Architecture:
Malek al-Tojar House of Yazd has three main parts.
One part was for the residence of the members of the house, one part with three-door and five-door rooms for guests, and one part for the servants.
The main courtyard of the house is rectangular and has a large pond with 4 fountains in the middle.
One of the attractions of this building is the rooms that are decorated in the style of Qajar architecture with flower and bird paintings and eye-catching mirror decorations.
The 23 rooms of this building are very similar to the decorations and paintings of the Narenjestan Mansion in Shiraz.
The Adam and Eve Room is one of the most beautiful rooms, with a Persian carpet design with very attractive colors on the ceiling of the room.
The owner of this building, due to his great interest in Persian carpets, asked Shirazi painters to implement this design.
The door of this room is wooden and is decorated with beautiful colored glass.
The mirror room is located in the eastern part, and all its walls and ceiling are covered with plaster and mirrors.
The room of Yusuf and Zuleikha is also very famous and unique due to the use of gold leaf in the paintings of the room.
In the basement of the building, there is a qanat, which unfortunately has dried up, but water is flowing artificially in this qanat.
The other parts of the house are the entrance, hexagonal vestibule, summer, winter, spring dormitory, Shahneshin, wooden columns, windcatchers, and underground corridors.
