Ramsar Anthropological Museum

The North Museum or Anthropology of Ramsar is one of the non-governmental museums of this city, operating with the permission of the Cultural Heritage Organization.

Introduction:
The North Museum of Ramsar is located in the Ramsar Museum Palace and opposite the Ivory Museum.
This museum was launched in March 2010 by Mr. Issa Khatami – retired secretary.
He considers the reason for launching this museum to be preserving the heritage of the past for future generations.
After a short time, the museum was closed due to the costs of maintaining the objects.
However, in 2016, the then governor of Ramsar resumed the museum’s activities and opened its second branch in the Ramsar Martyrs’ Complex.
The Anthropology Museum includes works related to Ramsar city and other cities in Mazandaran and Gilan provinces.
The museum’s numerous pavilions display more than 700 items of property, tools, and various anthropological instruments that are part of the customs and culture of the local people of the north of the country.
These works generally date back to the Qajar and Pahlavi periods to the contemporary period.
Items such as a blacksmith’s furnace, local clothes, handicrafts, banknotes, stamps, newspapers, and old textbooks are on display in this museum.
Another activity of this museum is to familiarize students with the culture of Mazandaran through workshops.
